SEPIA
I'm in a rather gray mood; I tried creating all kinds of interesting fairy-tale lands and creatures and things, but for the first time, I couldn't find any motivation to work on any of those ideas for more than 10 minutes!
I ended up creating this - I don't really know what it is. Just a retro-bot in an old-ish room in some sad colors.
Maybe one day when I've got more time (not anytime soon), I could make this into an animated-short story of a forgotten toy robot finding his purpose after his owner abandoned him. Or something silly like that.
PERSIAN SANDSTORMS
I created this after having watched the recent (at the time) Prince of Persia movie by Disney! I was wondering if could pull off something with a sense of SCALE.
MAKEUP
She does her hair on the balcony, all dressed up for a party she doesn't actually feel like attending. Her heart is at home, where after all these years she still remembers them looking out at the world together like it was only yesterday.
MODULAR HOUSING
With housing already packed so tight and faced with an ever-increasing population, could the future rest in modular housing? Low budget? Purchase a cube of house. Feeling rich? Purchase four! (These homes fit together, so you can own as large or as small a house as you want. Their tiered form offers wealthier home-owners the options of rooftop gardens [top right], swimming pools, better views, and easier access by MTR hover-craft.)
Their modular design allows them to look good WITHOUT sacrificing the compact build of the past. Constructed ABOVE existing structures, with "roots" going down existing gaps, these housing options do NOT displace the old population, allowing the city to modernize without deconstruction.
PERSIAN SANDSTORMS
This aims to show that whilst things like architecture or technology might change many distant years from now, some things like culture and heritage should always remain constant.
Made from restored kitchen scraps, old woks, pans and old steel, this little robot single-handedly manages all kitchen chores from cooking to cleaning and even the handling of payment (supported mainly by the multi-directional swivel head-piece that allows focus on multiple tasks at a time). A magnetic utility-ring gives easy access to commonly used sauces and utensils, and its six arms means it can do almost everything - at once.
TITLE
Just creating myself an avatar and playing with 3D text.
WAIT PATIENTLY
I created this retro gumball machine for fun -- I need one of these machines beside my bed. ...And each gumball should have a random little happy word on it, like "smile"!
//A test on materials, reflections, and mostly lighting! I tried to replicate a full studio-shoot settings with camera properties and overhead lightboxes. Now I can put any product in a pretty lighted background!
WALL•E & EVE
Wall•e is by far one of my favorite Disney movies, and I decided I'd try to create a scene from it, matching the dark grunge/dirty feel of things and the high-gloss body of Eve :)
WALL•E BROKEN
Here I created another Eve-looking bot to capture that tragic moment when the girl you love finds someone shinier, faster, smarter and glossier!
CRITTER
This bronze wind-up scorpion stays in a curled-up and unsuspecting ball position; that is, until you give its gears a few turns and wind up its springs -- then it becomes one of the smallest, handiest and deadliest gadgets in the assassin trade!
/Inspired by the clockwork mechanisms and steampunk-style in Hugo (great movie!) -- decided to put together my OWN mechanical fiend!
METAL SPRINGS & BOLTS & THINGS
Just playing around on one of those nights where sleep evades you no matter how many sheep you count!
FADED MARBLES
Playing around with reflections and shiny spheres and gravitational dynamics! Lovely glass orbs and candycane stripes.
THE FALL OF SANCTUM
My attempt at a post-apocalypse scene - the story behind it being the emergence of t kind of unstoppable foe which has pushed the human population out of the cities and into the refuge of the countryside. I'll probably make a set of these, working on the enemies themselves and perhaps attempts to retake the city.
ONION PODS
Take a slow paddle-boat down a lazy river where you get to spend an afternoon in the hanging Onion-pod villas! Their clear glass design allows you to be cozy and enjoy the serenity of your surroundings without having to worry about bugs, rain, or a heavy tan!
Set in the middle of one of nature's most beautiful (almost) uninhabited areas, the Onion-pod is mindful of its environment. Its minimalistic design, near-zero carbon emissions and almost full reliance on natural lighting makes this a nature-friendly home for nature-friendly dwellers!
ALIENS
In a particularly boring session of homework I was stuck on, I decided to make some colorful aliens! As you can see, that's just my Desktop wallaper in the back :)
STEEL IN MOTION
Warping some material around to create abstract fluid shapes. It's slightly therapeutic! It looks really good animated, actually!
CAN NATURE FIGHT BACK?
14% of all bird species are predicted to go extinct in the near future due to human destruction of habitat, urbanization and mechanization-related environmental disasters. I think they should put up a fight!
MEMORIES
Back when he was around to make breakfast in the morning.
CITY
A future-ish cityscape where the low-rise middle-class housing is overshadowed by HUGE towers of leading corporate entities.
LIGHTCYCLE
Evidently, I'd just watched Tron, and the new coolest things were sleek light-bikes which I just had to create for myself!

MY COLOR-RICHE
I saw the L'Oréal ad for their "My Color Riche" lipgloss and I thought, it's not really YOUR color unless you picked it. That's why you need a lipgloss with HUE/SATURATION sliders for 100% customization to make it truly YOUR color-riche!
* If you are unfamiliar with Photoshop or other image-editing software (or if you've been living in a hole since the past forever), Hue/Saturation sliders, well, change the Hue/Saturation of a color as you slide it, giving you just about ANY color in the world!
NETWORKING
How would it look if all the convoluted tree roots in Angkor Wat were actually part of some digital networking system? The trees brought up the idea of "networking" and nobody really knows what's behind those shadowy doorways, so I took the liberty of creating it.
PERFECTION?
People these days have so many ideals; he's got to cook, he's got to dance, he's got to do sports, he's got to do science, math, art, and music, he's got to have money, he's got to have time, he's got to be sweet, he's got to be tall, buff. The only person that lives up to the expectation of perfection...doesn't breathe. Hence, the image of the woman marrying this mechanized but definitely "perfect" being.
REVITALIZE?
Building over a run-down riverside with underwater housing and mall complexes in the distance. The "?" in its title questions the necessity of such revamping, and the loss of original heritage in the process :)
ITSIE
Created this little eco-friendly-trash-removing robot character for use in my next APArt piece. He functions primarily by picking up large pieces of trash, analyzing it with the camera "eye" with recognition software, and then placing it into the hole in its body for decompression. The shard components of this process are then sorted into respective cylindrical canisters by material (ie: glass, plastics, papers, trash). These canisters are then deposited back at HQ and is dealt with there. A mini vacuum is used to clean up insignificant dirt.
A solar-panel on its back generates enough electricity to keep it powered, and it runs not on fuel, but by electro-magnetic wheels (similar charges on the wheel and the hull-cap propels it forward / backward and so on and opposite charges causes it to stop; in this manner, along with the spherical 360 allowing wheels, all motion and maneuverability is accounted for).
MEET MITS
Meet Mits the eco-friendly cleaning-bot! (The completed piece from the concept of the previous image)
ZEPPELIN HANGAR
Decided to stop with all the future/tron/apple looking stuff and go backwards. Attempt at achieving that "bronze-steam-powered-victorian-era" look, of course with the far fetched flying zeppelin space stations.
Hydraulic bubble lifts on ropes (far right, in the distance) take you up above the cloud level into these massive airship docking stations (foreground) where you can catch a...(HK tram-on-a-zeppelin) to your desired location. The zeppelin and the station are kept afloat by the modern wonders of steam and wind power. Possible? Not really. Cool? I think so :)
A lot of the detail is lost in the web version, unfortunately, such as the rivets, nails and bolts I spent two hours putting in, the river waaaay down there, the asian couple taking photos of themselves, and the LED lights that say..."Next train to Lo Wu - Platform 4".
A7X FUTURE CAR
The giant single-wheel on the back provides amazing horse-power and allows for superb handling and stability. Windscreens have a matte-black capability for UV-heavy days or just for the "ominous-factor". Vents added on the front for rapid engine cooling. Retained the Tron-inspired highlights (who wouldn't?).
CHANGE
Change is inevitable, it's only a matter of getting used to it and adapting to it. I tried to show this by blending the futuristic car from my previous image with an old, rustic town in China!
HONG KONG TIMELAPSE
A time-lapse photograph...over the past few hundred years. You'll find some fishing villages and colonial houses on the left, the current Hong Kong skyline in the center and a...very optimistic view of Hong Kong's future on the right.
NEW HOUSING
These are ultra-modern homes built right into existing old slum apartments in Hong Kong.

SMART(ER) PHONE
Nothing groundbreaking here, it's just the image that I feel I never did. You know, one of those things that just nags you until you put a solid half an hour into it.
It's basically a smart(er) phone that is aware of you, the user, and your surroundings. Instead of the solid pure sheet of glass, you get a matte black steel rim because you want your phone, not pieces of it! The rest are common clichés :)
