ABOUT ME
WHAT IS ART
RESUMÉ
Hi, I'm Ryan!
I'm 18 and I am a Graphic Designer (I practically live in Photoshop) and have done a considerable amount of print/published design-work. I have recently begun experimenting in 3D/Digital Art to bring the fantasy worlds in my imagination to life, along with Animation/Motion-Design. Serious studies aside, I have hobbies of digital Photography, Writing, Re-watching CG-intensive movies in slow motion and okay, the occasional console game!
An aspiring digital artist, I began my early work in the 2D graphic-design environment back in the 8th-grade. Since then, it’s been an exciting journey of excellent mentors, hours of online tutorials, and much off-task experimentation & self-learning. Late 2009, I discovered 3D-art and a new obsession with game-graphics or movie VFX. This opened new doors to countless possibilities -- my latest pieces merging my Photography with the fantasy realms of my imagination!
My excitement for design cannot be aptly phrased with words, however, and I sincerely hope you'll take the time to let me show you through my work!
What is Art?
If you ask what art is to me, I’d say first and foremost that art, like almost everything else, is practical. There’s a misconception that art is only for those who can appreciate it, for the “artistes” with torn jeans to render in their medium of choice and to be confined to the walls of galleries. No. Art is the iPhone you have in your pocket, the skyscraper you pass by on your way home, the way your house is laid out and in the movie you just watched. Art is expression; each piece of work reflecting the artist’s thoughts, priorities, dreams, and heritage.
PROFILE
